What data RankX AI stores

What RankX AI stores about your store, what it does not, who processes it and how long it is kept.

RankX AI stores what it needs to run the app for your store: your store's details, the products and questions you follow, the results of its checks, and every change it made. It stores nothing about your customers or their orders, and no payment details. This page lists what is held, who processes it and how long it is kept. It applies to every plan, including Free.

What does RankX AI store about my store?

ConnectionsYour Shopify access tokens, encrypted. If you connect Search Console, a read-only Google token and your synced search data

What does RankX AI not store?

  • Customers and orders. The app does not request them.
  • Payment details. Billing is Shopify's, and the app receives your plan and its status.
  • The owner's phone number or street address, or staff names and email addresses.
  • The contents of Shopify's product update messages. Only a note that a product needs looking at is kept.

Who else processes my data?

RankX AI uses a small number of processors to do the work. Each one, with what it does and where it operates, is on the sub-processors page.

PurposeWhat is sent
AI writing and imagesProduct titles, descriptions and photos, and your store's name. Your Shopify access token is never sent.
Checking AI answersYour shopper question and the market it is asked in.
Hosting and storageThe app and its database run in the EU.
EmailYour store email, to deliver the weekly summary.
Agency codesOnly if a code is entered: your store's Shopify ID and address, whether the person is the owner or a collaborator, and a one-way hash of who entered it.

Your Shopify access tokens stay with RankX AI and are encrypted at rest.

What happens to my data when I uninstall?

Checks stop and RankX AI clears its access to your store. Shopify then asks for your store's data to be deleted, normally 48 hours later, and it is deleted at that point. If that request never arrives, the data is deleted within 30 days of uninstalling. Uninstalling has the details, including the short record that stays.

How do I ask for a copy of my data?

Email support@rankxai.com and ask for a machine-readable copy of the personal data held about your store. Do this before your store's data is deleted. The privacy policy covers your other rights.

How are customer data requests handled?

When Shopify passes on a customer's request to see or delete their data, RankX AI acknowledges it. There is nothing to return or delete, because the app holds no customer data.

Questions

Does RankX AI store my customers' data?

No. The app does not request customers or orders, so it holds no information about your buyers. Shopify's customer data requests are acknowledged, because there is nothing to return or delete.

Who sees my product data?

To write content and images, the app sends product titles, descriptions, photos and your store's name to AI model providers. Your Shopify access token is never sent. All processors are on the sub-processors page.

How long does RankX AI keep my data after I uninstall?

Your store's account is deleted within 30 days of uninstalling, and normally much sooner. A short record stays so that trials and free items are not given twice.

How do I get a copy of my data?

Email support@rankxai.com before your store's data is deleted, and ask for a machine-readable copy of the personal data held about your store.
