AI Search Visibility Platform
AI shopping visibility: whether AI recommends your products.
RankX AI measures AI shopping visibility on ChatGPT Shopping and Google AI Mode: whether your products are recommended, which merchants appear instead, and who is paying.
7-day free trial. No credit card required.
7 of 24products in your catalogue recommended at least once in the last 28 days
61 of 96 shopping answers showed product cards. 9 merchants appeared in them, you included.
12 sponsored cards were shown, counted apart: an ad is never blended into a visibility figure.

What it is
An AI shopping visibility tool tells you which of your products AI recommends.
AI shopping visibility is whether your products appear as product cards when a shopper asks an AI surface what to buy, measured against your own catalogue over 28 days.
What it does
Your catalogue, checked against every shopping answer
RankX AI asks the questions shoppers ask on ChatGPT Shopping and Google AI Mode, reads every product card out of every answer, and matches each card against your product list. You see which products were recommended, in which slot and at what price, and whose cards appeared when yours did not.
The unit is the card, not the mention: a brand can be praised in prose while its products never appear.
Who it is for
Shop owners, ecommerce marketers and agencies
A store on WooCommerce, Shopify or a product file; an ecommerce marketer with a catalogue of SKUs to defend; and an SEO or GEO agency reporting to retail clients, each client with its own allowance. It is a screen in the app and an MCP tool, so nobody needs a developer.
If a shopper can ask an AI what to buy, this tells you whether the answer was you.
What it costs
5 credits per shopping prompt, per surface, on every plan
Every plan carries an AI Shopping allowance, from 10 prompts per website on Starter to 100 on Agency Scale. A check runs each prompt on every surface, so ten prompts is a 100-credit sweep, and reading the results costs nothing.
The 7-day trial's 1,000 credits cover 200 shopping checks.
Adobe measured AI-referred traffic to US retail sites up 138% year on year in May 2026, converting 54% better than traffic from other sources. Salesforce measured AI and AI agents influencing around a fifth of global online sales, 262 billion dollars, over the 2025 holiday season.
Where it looks
Two shopping surfaces, watched product by product, apart from the six assistants.
RankX AI checks each shopping prompt on both surfaces, so one prompt is 2 checks. The assistants your buyers ask for advice are a different run, counted apart.
Shopping checks
Your shopping prompts, asked the way a shopper would ask them, then read for which product cards rendered, whose they were, and what each card said.
- ChatGPT ShoppingOpenAIThe product carousel in ChatGPT's own answers, read as a shopper sees it. Sponsored cards are flagged, so paid placement is visible.
- Google AI ModeGoogleThe shopping results inside Google's AI Mode answers. Every product row carries the seller and the price it showed.
The prompt run, separately
Brand mentions in written answers are a different measurement with a different unit, tracked by AI Visibility rather than here.

A shopping check and a visibility check are priced alike, at 5 credits per check, and never mixed: whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot name your brand is AI Visibility’s job. This page is about product cards.
What you get
Your products, everyone’s merchants, and the ads: three readings of the same answers.
RankX AI reads every product card out of every checked answer, then files it three ways: was it yours, whose was it if not, and was its placement bought.
Products
Every product in your catalogue, with how often it was recommended, its best and average slot, and the price the card showed.
A product that never appears is a question a rival is answering.
Merchants
Every seller whose cards appeared on your tracked questions, built from the cards that were not yours. A seller the card does not name is listed as not named.
Your shopping rivals are whoever the answers show, not who you expect.
Ads
Who is paying for placement on the questions you track, counted in three states: shown, returned but not shown, and not stated.
An ad is bought, not earned. It never counts toward visibility.
A card RankX AI cannot match to your catalogue counts as a merchant, never as a miss. Sponsored cards are flagged on ChatGPT Shopping; the other surface states no trustworthy paid flag, so RankX AI does not invent one. The sellers and figures in the pictures are the sample scenario’s.
The method
What RankX AI measured first, and what each figure changed.
Every honesty rule on this page comes from a number RankX AI measured on the surfaces themselves before writing a line of the feature, and the numbers are below.
84% · 80% · 0%
Which questions show products
Of 107 checks RankX AI ran on ChatGPT in August 2026, mostly in the UK market, category questions such as best walking boots for wide feet produced a product carousel 84% of the time (42 of 50), product questions 80% (12 of 15), and questions about a brand by name never (0 of 20). So RankX AI writes shopping prompts from your catalogue as category and product questions, and refuses to spend a check on a brand question.
A check that can never show a product is a check spent learning nothing.
24%
Why one check is never a verdict
Of 33 UK prompts asked more than once, 8 came back with a different carousel verdict, and the same question returned anywhere from one to seven cards. RankX AI reports a rate over a 28-day window, four whole weeks, and never renders a single absence as a miss.
A single screenshot proves nothing about your visibility, in either direction.
5.4% vs 100%
How a card is matched to your catalogue
ChatGPT cards carried a price and an image on every card and a rating on nine in ten, but a seller URL on only 15 of 278; Google AI Mode rows carried seller, price and URL on every row. So RankX AI matches by product title against your own catalogue, records which method fired on every match, and files a card it cannot place as a merchant rather than as a miss.
A false match tells you your product ranks when a rival's does, which is worse than a miss.
Blank, not zero
What a blank figure means
Shopping visibility divides by answers that showed products at all. An independent July 2026 study found Google AI Mode returned products on 23% of shopping searches, against 88% for the standard results page, so a window in which no answer showed a carousel has no denominator, and RankX AI leaves the figure blank rather than reporting a zero it never measured.
A blank is a fact about the surface. A zero would be a claim about you.
Measured by RankX AI before the feature was built: 135 dispatches to ChatGPT Shopping and Google AI Mode in August 2026, mostly from the UK, re-derived from the stored answers by a script rather than quoted from memory. The 23% figure is Productrise's, from more than 100,000 searches run on Google Search and Google AI Mode in the US and UK over 21 days in July 2026.
How it runs
A catalogue goes in, a verdict comes out, and an unclear one is called unclear.
Nothing here needs a pixel or a plugin beyond the shop you already run: the catalogue is the connection, the prompts are the questions, and the diagnosis is one honest check.
Connect your catalogue
A connected WooCommerce store fills this list on its own. Every other shop uploads a product file, and a Shopify export or a Google Merchant Center feed is read as it comes. RankX AI matches every product card it sees against your own product list, whichever way the list arrived.
Track the questions shoppers ask
Each shopping prompt is checked on both surfaces, 5 credits per shopping prompt, per surface, per run, and the answers accumulate into a 28-day picture. RankX AI writes the prompts from your catalogue as category and product questions and refuses brand questions, which showed a product in 0 of 20 checks when it measured.
Diagnose a product that never appears
One check against ordinary Google Shopping answers whether the problem is your feed, your listing, or genuinely unclear. When the result sets are not comparable, RankX AI says so instead of guessing.
RankX AI never changes a price, a stock level or a product URL, and no shopping finding is applied on its own. A listing rewrite is available on approval: Chat proposes one WooCommerce product’s SEO title, meta description and short description, and applies it only when you say so. A Shopify store connects separately, for reading and fixing the store itself: how the Shopify integration reads and writes your store.
What it costs
Every plan carries a shopping allowance. Nothing here is an add-on.
The allowance is AI Shopping prompts per website, and a check runs each prompt on all 2 surfaces at 5 credits each, so the sweep figures below are the honest monthly arithmetic.
For brands
- Starter10 AI Shopping prompts per websitea full sweep costs 100 of the plan’s 5,000 credits
- Growth25 AI Shopping prompts per websitea full sweep costs 250 of the plan’s 12,000 credits
- Pro50 AI Shopping prompts per websitea full sweep costs 500 of the plan’s 25,000 credits
For agencies
- Agency Starter25 AI Shopping prompts per websitea full sweep costs 250 of the plan’s 25,000 credits
- Agency Pro50 AI Shopping prompts per websitea full sweep costs 500 of the plan’s 50,000 credits

The trial
- 7-day trial1,000 credits, no card200 shopping checks at the same per-surface rate
Prices, credit grants and every other allowance are on the pricing page, including the same per-surface arithmetic in its credits section. Credits do not roll over, and nothing bills automatically when they run out.
Where it sits
Brand visibility and AI shopping visibility answer different questions.
AI Visibility asks whether an assistant names you; AI Shopping asks whether a surface shows your product. RankX AI runs both, prices them alike, and never blends the two figures.
| Criterion | Brand visibility | AI shopping visibility |
|---|---|---|
| Unit | A mention: your brand named in a written answer, which is the unit most AI visibility tools report | A card: your product shown with an image, a price and a seller |
| Where it is observed | ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews on your tracked keywords | ChatGPT Shopping and Google AI Mode, the surfaces a data provider can observe at industrial quality |
| How a result is attributed | Your brand and domain read from the answer text and its citations | Every card matched against your own catalogue, with the match method recorded |
| What counts, and what stays blank | Mention rate over checks with a known verdict; an unread check is unknown, never zero | Share of answers that showed products; no carousel in the window means blank, and a sponsored card never counts |
| What a check costs | 5 credits per prompt, per assistant, per run | 5 credits per shopping prompt, per surface, per run |
The written-answer half is what AI Visibility measures on the assistants, the term is defined in what AI shopping visibility is, and how it differs from a brand mention, and every denominator on this page is stated in how RankX AI measures, check by check.
Who it is for
Built for the shop that owns a catalogue, and the agency that reports on twenty.
AI Shopping is on every plan, so the question is whether the job is yours: knowing which of your products AI recommends, for one shop or for a portfolio of retail clients.
Store owner
You sell from WooCommerce, Shopify or a product file
Connect WooCommerce and the catalogue keeps itself current. Export from Shopify or upload a Google Merchant Center product feed and it is read as it comes. Then track the questions a shopper would ask about what you sell, and see which of your products the answers show, which merchants show instead, and what each card was priced at.
Ten prompts is a 100-credit sweep on Starter, and reading the results is free.
Ecommerce marketer
You own a catalogue of SKUs and a rival keeps appearing
The Merchants view is built from the cards that were not yours, so your shopping rivals are whoever the answers show rather than who you expect. A product that never appears gets a diagnosis against ordinary Google Shopping: feed problem, listing problem, or an honest refusal to claim either.
The fix is yours to approve. Nothing is applied on its own.
SEO and GEO agency
You report shopping visibility to retail clients
Every client website carries its own AI Shopping allowance, from 25 prompts on Agency Starter to 100 on Agency Scale, its own catalogue and its own merchant set, and the shopping screens sit behind their own client permission, so a client sees them when you decide they should.
A product-level report beats a brand mention when the client sells things.
Two jobs it does not do. It does not rewrite a listing or move a price on its own: a price is a revenue decision, so a shopping finding becomes a proposal you approve in Chat, never an automatic edit. And it does not report a surface no data provider can observe at industrial quality: Perplexity shows product cards and nobody sells a structured feed of them, and no provider exposes a shopping surface for Claude, so neither is folded into an average.
Questions
What shop owners ask about AI shopping visibility.
Direct answers, in the words buyers use, including the two where the honest answer is no.
What is AI shopping visibility?
AI shopping visibility is whether your products appear as product cards when a shopper asks an AI surface what to buy. The unit is the card, not the sentence: a card carries an image, a price and a buy link, so a brand-mention tracker can score well while your products never appear at all. RankX AI measures the cards on ChatGPT Shopping and Google AI Mode, matched against your own catalogue, over a 28-day window so single odd runs cannot swing the picture.
How do I check if my products appear in ChatGPT Shopping?
Ask ChatGPT a category question about what you sell and look for the product carousel, then ask again tomorrow: in RankX AI's own measurement the same question came back with a different carousel verdict 24% of the time. To check properly, connect or upload your catalogue, track the questions shoppers ask, and read the rate over 28 days. RankX AI reports which of your products appeared, in which slot and at what price, which merchants appeared instead, and on ChatGPT Shopping whether a card was sponsored.
Is anyone actually shopping through AI yet?
Measurably, yes. Adobe measured AI-referred traffic to US retail sites up 138% year on year in May 2026, converting 54% better than traffic from other sources, and up more than fourteen-fold since it began counting in October 2024. Salesforce measured AI and AI agents influencing around a fifth of global online sales, 262 billion dollars, across the 2025 holiday season. Both surfaces now take a shopper past the recommendation: OpenAI's Instant Checkout buys inside ChatGPT, and Google's Universal Commerce Protocol puts a checkout on eligible products in AI Mode, in the US first, which is what agentic commerce means in practice. The volumes are still small next to Google, and the honest case is the direction: product discovery is moving into the answer, the buyers there convert, and early placement is cheap to measure.
Which AI shopping surfaces does RankX AI track?
ChatGPT Shopping and Google AI Mode: the product carousel in ChatGPT's answers and the shopping results inside Google's AI Mode. Google AI Mode is the conversational answer surface, not the AI Overview above a results page, and those two are the shopping surfaces a data provider can observe at industrial quality today. Each tracked prompt is checked on both.
How does ChatGPT decide which products to show?
OpenAI states that shopping results are chosen independently and are not ads, built from product data in merchant feeds and third-party sources and picked for relevance to the question, so a recommendation is earned rather than bought. Ads, where ChatGPT shows them, sit below the answer and are labelled as sponsored. What RankX AI can add is measured rather than stated: category and product questions produced a carousel four times in five, questions about a brand by name never, and the same question does not reliably return the same cards. Complete product data, in the feed and in the structured data on the product page, is the part a merchant controls.
What about Perplexity, Claude or the other assistants?
Not today, and the honest reason is the data rather than the shopping. Perplexity does show product cards, but no industrial data provider sells a structured feed of them, and RankX AI will not run a scraping fleet of its own to guess at one. No provider exposes a shopping surface for Claude at all, and Anthropic's September 2026 commerce work is agent blueprints for retailers to run on their own sites rather than a shopping answer inside Claude. Whether any of those assistants name your brand in written answers is a different measurement, and AI Visibility tracks that across every assistant RankX AI covers. When a surface can be observed properly, it is added as a surface, not folded into an average.
What is the difference between AI visibility and AI shopping visibility?
The unit, the surfaces and the window. AI visibility asks whether an assistant or answer engine names your brand in a written answer, across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, and is measured as a mention rate over 30 days. AI shopping visibility asks whether a surface shows your product as a card, on ChatGPT Shopping and Google AI Mode, matched against your catalogue over 28 days. A brand can score well on the first while its products never appear on the second, which is why RankX AI reports them apart and never blends them.
Do I need WooCommerce or Shopify for this to work?
No. AI Shopping needs a product list, not a platform, and a file is enough. Both platforms do connect, and they connect for different jobs: a connected WooCommerce store keeps this product list current on its own, while a connected Shopify store is read and fixed as a store, its SEO metadata, its image alt text and its redirects. For AI Shopping specifically, a Shopify export or a Google Merchant Center feed is read as it comes, so nothing has to be reformatted first.
What does a shopping check cost?
5 credits per shopping prompt, per surface, per run. Ten tracked shopping prompts checked on every surface is a 100-credit sweep, and the 7-day trial's 1,000 credits cover 200 checks. Reading the results costs nothing: the Products, Merchants and Ads views are arithmetic over answers already collected.
Does it work for a small shop or a niche product?
Yes, with one honest caveat. The catalogue can be a file of a dozen products, ten prompts is a 100-credit sweep on Starter, and the questions are written from what you sell rather than from a category list. The caveat is the surface, not the tool: a niche question may never trigger a carousel on either surface, and RankX AI reports that as blank rather than zero, because it means the surface had no product opinion on that question yet. That is worth knowing before a rival fills the slot, and it costs nothing to read.
Does Google Merchant Center already show AI shopping visibility?
Partly, in five countries. Google's AI performance insights report in Merchant Center shows a share of voice for your free listings in AI Mode and AI Overviews, against competitors you define in Merchant Center, for English-language queries in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the United States. It does not cover the UK, ChatGPT Shopping, merchants outside your defined set or sponsored placement, and it reports impressions rather than which products appeared in which answer. RankX AI reads the answers themselves, on both shopping surfaces, in the market you choose.
Can RankX AI fix my product listings automatically?
No, and deliberately. A price change is a revenue decision and an invented attribute would be fabrication, so no shopping finding is ever auto-applied. What you get instead is a diagnosis: whether a missing product is a feed problem or a listing problem, and an honest refusal to claim either when the evidence cannot support it. Acting on that diagnosis is a separate step you approve yourself, in Chat.
Can I optimise a product listing from the chat interface?
Yes, on approval. Chat reads your shopping visibility for free, and in Act mode it proposes the rewrite as a card showing the exact before and after, applying it only when you approve. It covers one WooCommerce product's SEO title, meta description and short description. It can never change the price, the stock, the status or the product URL, because those inputs do not exist on the tool, and the price is reported before and after so you can see it did not move. If the product is edited in WooCommerce while the card is waiting, the write refuses rather than overwriting that edit.
Are sponsored cards counted in my visibility?
Never. An ad is bought, not earned, so sponsored cards are reported in their own view and excluded from every visibility figure. The Ads view also separates cards actually shown from cards returned but not rendered, because only a card a shopper saw is placement worth paying for. In the sample scenario that is 12 sponsored cards, counted apart.
