What it can and cannot do
The complete capability statement in three bands, plus the work done elsewhere in RankX AI. Each ability follows what its tool is enforced to do.

When Chat gains an ability, it appears here after it is enforced, never before.
Free, straight away
Reading your own data never costs credits beyond the message. Chat can:
- Tell you how you appear in AI assistants' answers, and who appears instead of you, including your AI Shopping visibility
- Read your Google rankings, Search Console performance and indexing
- Read your Analytics traffic: pages, acquisition channels, and who is on the site right now
- Show which AI assistants send visitors and whether those visits become enquiries or sales, with how the tracking is set up
- Read your Bing performance, and which pages Bing cannot read: the index Microsoft Copilot answers from
- Read your latest site audit and sitemaps, and explain what each issue means
- Read the pages, products, categories and revisions on your connected website
- Read your brand profile, topic clusters, drafts and open tasks
- Tell you your credit balance, where credits went, and what is connected
- Tell you what is wrong with your Shopify store: products no one can see, missing search titles and descriptions, images with no alt text
- Tell you which redirect manager your WordPress site uses, the redirects it has with their hit counts, and the missing pages visitors hit
- Show the structured data (schema) on a page of your WordPress site, which SEO plugin manages it, and any duplicates
- Check which SEO features your WordPress pages actually output (descriptions, social tags, structured data, sitemap and more) and say where each gap is fixed
- Tell you which pages have the most to gain from being improved, with the numbers behind each one
- Tell you whether an article reached your website, and which parts of it landed: body, SEO title, description, schema, image, categories, author
- Tell you how far an article being written has got (researching, queued, writing or ready) and what it cost
Only with your approval
You see exactly what will happen, and the price, before anything runs. With your approval, Chat can:
- Run a fresh check: rankings, AI visibility, AI shopping, a site audit, keyword or prompt research, or trends. These cost credits at their own published rates
- Write an article draft into Content Studio for you to review (costs credits)
- Save things into your account: keywords, prompts, tasks, cluster links
- Stop tracking a keyword, or change its market, device or check frequency. Nothing recorded is deleted
- Apply one specific fix to a page on your site, and undo it afterwards
- Set the SEO title and meta description of one page: the text Google shows
- Rewrite one shop product's SEO text and short description, never its price or stock
- Add a category or tag to your website: a label only, with nothing filed under it
- Create a new empty draft page or post: the title, URL and filing, for you to write into
- Add a new product to your shop as a draft, for you to publish in WooCommerce yourself
- Suggest a rewrite of an existing page, section by section, without changing anything on your site (costs credits)

Chat's scope is reading, advising and the approved actions above. The jobs below sit outside the conversation by design, and several of them are done on RankX AI's own screens instead. Chat does not:
- Write or delete the body of a page. A proposed fix is as far as it goes
- Change many pages at once
- Change your media library
- Touch your WordPress settings, plugins or users
- Change anything on your Shopify store from the conversation. Chat tells you what to fix, and the change is made on the store's own screen in RankX AI
- Add or remove a redirect from the conversation. Chat tells you which ones to add, and they are added from the Broken pages screen in RankX AI
- Add, change or remove structured data (schema) from the conversation. Chat can write the schema for you to review, and it is applied through a connected MCP client
- Apply or undo a page improvement from the conversation. Chat suggests the rewrite, and you apply it on the page's own screen in RankX AI
- Publish an article from the conversation. You publish it from the article's own screen in Content Studio
- Switch to another website mid-conversation: each chat belongs to one website
- Do anything scheduled or recurring. It acts only while you are there
- Remember other conversations, or anything you told it outside this one
Why the scope is the point
A chat that can quietly rewrite pages is a liability wearing a text box. The narrow write scope, the approval card and the undo are what make it safe to leave Act mode on. Every write above is one object at a time, and the edits to things already published are the smallest ones there are: a page's title and meta, or a product's SEO text. Everything else it can create arrives as a draft for you to finish. Nothing it writes is bulk, nothing it writes is a page body, and the one edit that touches live text keeps a revert to the exact bytes that were there before.
